Cingular is the New AT&T

"All around the world, you've got to spread the word. Tell them what you've heard."

"Cingular is the New AT&T!"

This may or may not be a big deal to you, but it has stirred many conversations from its 47 million subscribers (as of 2004). Either way, whether you are a cingular customer or not, you've probably heard the new theme song (actually pretty catchy) played across television and radio hyping up the new merger.

You hear this catchy tune hyping up the big news. "All around the world, you've got to spread the word. Tell them what you've heard." It really sounds like something to be excited about. Something that your just going to run out and tell everyone. In my opinion (for what it's worth) Cingular and AT&T did a good job in their marketing strategy with this song, simply because it actually tunes you in to what they are doing.

The reason I bring this up is because every time I see or hear this advertising campaign it makes me think about one thing. What if each and every one of us used this same strategy in our Christian walk? What if All around the world, we spread the word, we tell them what we've heard? There is certainly a lot of hype about Cingular and AT&T merging, what if we circulated that same excitement about something infinitely more important?

The last words that are spoken before someone is dying or leaving us is very important. In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus left his disciples with these words: Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

All around the world, you've got to spread the word. Tell them what you've heard. Let's get in line with what Cingular and AT&T are saying, but let's give it a truly important message. Christ lived, died, and rose from the grave so that we could have life in Him.

All around the world, go spread the word. Tell them them what you've heard. Jesus Christ wants to change your life!

Go. Tell.

Brandon
