If I just had a lot of money...
If I just had a new car...
If I just had a new job...
If...
Isn't it amazing how many times we say "if." There is a false sense of comfort in placing "if" in our circumstances. The "if" makes us feel better about why we aren't farther in life, or why things are the way they are.
Exodus 15:25-26 says ...There the Lord made a decree and a law for them, and there he tested them. 26He said, "If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you."
I love how God takes our "if" and places it on His terms. Notice the life changing wisdom He gives...
If I will...
1. Listen carefully to the voice of God
2. Do what is right in His eyes
3. Pay attention to His commands
4. Keep His decrees
He will...
1. Not bring disease on me
What does that mean? I will never get sick? Why is God even casting disease? No, what God is speaking to us today is that God is faithful to those who are faithful to Him. God is constantly giving us wisdom from His word begging us to just fall in love with Him and live life according to the greater purpose and destiny He has laid out for us.
I just want to encourage you today. Maybe you are wondering why things are the way they are, and you're saying; "if" only this... "if" only that... Takes God's word and apply it today and remember that "if" you will follow the words of wisdom God will be faithful.
"If" I..... I will!
