Door #1 or Door #2?

Of all of the television game shows I always enjoyed "Let's Make a Deal." I don't know how many of you remember the game show, but it was a lot of fun to watch. One thing that always made the show fun to me was that all the potential players in the audience were dressed up in costumes as if it were a large Halloween gathering.

Well the premise of the show was that audience members were randomly selected to go to the stage and "make a deal." There were certain things they had to do in order to win the prize, but the catch was that they had to either select door number one or door number two. Doesn't sound bad I know, but door number one could hold a new car and door number two could hold a real live donkey! Wonder what those people did with the Donkey?

The decisions we make in our lives are really no different, only we have a little more information on what's behind the doors we choose.

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

So scripture seems pretty plain that if we knock on the door it will be opened. In other words, if you go to Christ He will not deny you. You know it's encouraging to know that all I have to do is knock on His door and He will answer. But what about door number two? I'm glad you asked.

Door number one is Christ waiting for you, but there is also someone waiting behind door number two as well. Satan is waiting for you to knock on his door so that he can deceive you and destroy your life. I know what some of you are thinking already, "I'm not knocking on the devils door." Well let me ask you this, are you knocking on the Lords door?

If you answered no to knocking on the Lords door, then the truth is that you've probably already knocked on the enemies door and have been invited in. You see, rejecting Christ is accepting the enemy. And remember that just as the Lord will answer you when you knock and welcome you in, so will the enemy.

So I ask you today, will it be door number one or door number two? I want to encourage you today to put some thought on the door your knocking on. Let's make a deal is great for a game show, but not for my life. I want to be knocking on the right door.

Remember that 1 Peter 5:8 tells us that the Devil is just waiting to destroy you. He's waiting behind door number two to welcome you into a world of deception. This decision allows for no exchanges, returns, or store credits. It's all or nothing.

I'm taking door number one!

Brandon
