Walk as Jesus Walked

Let's cut right to the chase. There is an abundance of people here in America that claim to know Christ, yet live as though they don't. There is an abundance of people filling our churches, yet do not live the truth.

I am convinced more than ever that we are truly living in the last days. I am convinced more than ever that there are many, many people here on earth who are going to be very suprised at judgement. In today's church and today's "Christianity" we are allowing people to live anyway they want without caring enough to share the truth. I would like to share the truth with you today.

1. Not Every Who Calls His Name Will Enter Heaven
Matthew 7:21 - Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father in heaven.

I realize that this is a lot to swallow. The truth is that some of you never will. But the reality is that there is an abundance of people going to church every week who are saying Lord, Lord, but will never enter heaven. Why? Because they aren't doing (living) what God has commanded us to do.

You cannot live like this... "Well I know what the Bible says, but..." That is not going to cut it. The Word is the Word. Right is right and wrong is wrong. We must live it!

2. Few Will Actually Make It
Matthew 7:13-14 - "Enter throug the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Guys, I love you enough to be honest. It's going to take a lot to make it. Yes I know God is gracious and loving, but grace is not an excuse to sin. Grace is the ability to live what He has commanded us. The truth is, it's going to take a lot to make it. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 that he lives life in such a way to win. He even said that not every runner who runs will win. Be he makes his very own body a slave so that he way win the prize. Go read the way he lived and see if you are living that way.

3. How Do I Know?
1 John 2:3-6 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

It is very simple, let's quote the scripture together... "This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did." I love the scritpure. It's so clear and simple.

Check your life today and see if you are walking as Jesus walked. Well Brandon how do I know? Study the Word. If you aren't studying the Word, then it's easy to assume that maybe you aren't.

I want to encouarge you today to take your relationship with Christ serious. The truth (even though it hurts) is that it doesn't matter what you think or feel. Black is black and white is white. There are standards. It's not as easy as the church has made it out to be. Don't miss out on eternity. Walk as Jesus walked!

Following His Steps!

Brandon
